Description:
A sizzling spicy dish made of Bhendi/Okra/Ladies fingers. Roasted with indian spices and drizzled with a dash of cashew powder. It is also called bhindi tawa fry.This is one of my favourite dishes.
Ingredients:
20 medium sized ladies fingers/Okra,
1 tablespoon gram flour,
1 teaspoon chilly powder,
half teaspoon turmeric powder,
1 teaspoon coriander powder,
half teaspoon cumin seeds/cumin powder.
2 teaspoons of cashew powder(optional),
1 teaspoon of sesame seeds,
Salt to taste.
2 tablespoon cooking oil.
Method:
- Wash and slit the ladies fingers and keep them aside,
- In a bowl , add gram flour,chilly powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,crushed cumin seeds/powder, sesame seeds and salt to taste.Mix them well.
- Fill the above mixture into the ladies fingers one by one and keep them aside.
- Take a round bottom tawa,add cooking oil. Add the stuffed ladies fingers into the oil. Mix gently so that the mixture doesnt come out.Close the pan with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes .
- Now drizzel the cashew powder over this and cook for another five minutes(or more if you want it to be crispier).
Serve hot.
