Cabbaje Ambado

If your thinking what you could make of a football sized Cabbage then fret not .I have some cool Konkani recipes for you to savour .Cabbage Ambado is a fried Cabbage fritters containing some chopped Cabbage,onions(optional) and  gram flour. Nice accompaniment with rice and Daalithoy or as an evening snack.

2 cups of shredded Cabbage,
1 cup of shredded onion,
2 cups of gram flour(Chickpea flour/besan),
1 teaspoon of Zeera,
1 teaspoon of Saunf,
half teaspoon off hing,
4 green chillies paste,
2-5 curry leaves,
Cooking oil for frying,
Salt to taste.
  • Take a bowl , add onions,cabbage,curry leaves,zeera,Saunf, green chilly paste,hing, a teaspoon of hot oil(for crispiness) and Salt to taste.Mix well. Add a bit(2 teaspoons of ) of water if required. Cabbage has lots of water content in it so most of the times you will not require additional water.
  • Heat oil for frying, once heated  take a 2 teaspoons of above mixture and drop into the hot oil(Be Careful when you deal with frying !!!).
  • Fry until Golden yellow.
Serve Hot with Tomato Sauce.
