Jeere Meere Kadi

This is another konkani randayi which is known for its digestive powers .It helps relieve stomach upsets and also tastes good.The main ingredients are pepper and cummin seeds.

1 cup of scraped coconut,
1-teaspoon Zeera/cummin seeds,
1- teaspoon pepper corns,
2-3 red chillies,
An inch of tamarind,
a pinch of Hing/Asafoedita,
1-teaspoon Ghee/cooking Oil
Salt to taste.
  • Step1-Heat a pan and add ghee/cooking oil, add peppercorns,zeera,hing,red chillies,tamarind,Fry them for a minute.Add
  • coconut and fry for another minute.Cool the mixture.
  • Step2- Grind the mixture to a fine paste .
  • Step3-Pour the mixture to a pan and add 1 1/2 cups of water,Salt to taste.Bring it to boil.
Serves 4.Serve hot with brown/white rice.
